Thanks for visiting!
Offered is a 9cm X 12cm X 1cm piece of limestone matrix preserving two complete fish and a splendid complete cuttlefish (Squid), from the celebrated Cretaceous; Cenomonian quarry at Hjoule, Lebanon.
Laterally reserved, both fish are not conspecific; the largest is 9cm (along axis) and probably belongs to Lebonichthys sp. and retains a detailed skull with a complete vertebral column and all ribs intact, and with pectoral, anal, dorsal and tail fins too.
The smaller fish is 4cm and sharply preserved .and the Cuttlefish is 5.5cm with soft -part preservation, including the mantle feeding arms and lateral 'fins'. The internal ink sac apparatus is particularly well shown.
This is a very displayable and well above average specimen for the serious collector at an affordable price...........
Although I sell a very wide range of fossils from Pre- Cambrian to Pleistocene age, I specialize in trilobites from all over the globe and in particular, British species.
I collect regularly in the UK, with more than forty five years of fieldwork experience and probably the best working knowledge of British trilobite localities. I have a doctorate and a masters degree in trilobite taxonomy and British Palaeozoic stratigraphy and an Open University degree in Natural Sciences.
If you are an amateur collector, a more serious scientific collector, or an agent for an educational organization ( e.g College, University or Museum), I can supply materials to suit your needs! I also buy whole collections and trade materials too. Visits are welcome,by appointment only.
