For finely preserved, rare and amazing fish, birds, bats and other vertebrates from this world famous MIddle Eocene site, mounted in resin matrix in the time honoured way
Send me your 'wants list' for future international and UK shows or for my collecting trips in Britain:
If you are a fieldwork collector and have surplus trilobites or other Palaeozoic fossils for sale or trade, please get in touch. I buy whole collections too!
Offered from the Eifelian; Formation d'El Otfal, Ceratarges Couche, of Jbel Zireg, Moroccan Anti Atlas, is a potentially fine and large (6.2cm including spines) example of the Lichid Ceratarges ziregensis Vierson & Prescher, 2011.
The specimen is partly prepared locally in the typical fashion, with the glabellar spines and pedunculate eye stalks supported my a slither of matrix, which can be removed easily with careful preparation with modern air tools. Similarly the pygidial margin spines can be further prepared, as these are in evidence and seem to be undamaged.
All of the major spines are original and retain their coarse and irregular prosopon of tubercles. Altogether, a potentially fine display item, at an affordable price.
Although I sell a very wide range of fossils from Pre- Cambrian to Pleistocene age, I specialize in trilobites from all over the globe and in particular, British species.
I collect regularly in the UK, with more than forty five years of fieldwork experience and probably the best working knowledge of British trilobite localities. I have a doctorate and a masters degree in trilobite taxonomy and British Palaeozoic stratigraphy and an Open University degree in Natural Sciences.
If you are an amateur collector, a more serious scientific collector, or an agent for an educational organization ( e.g College, University or Museum), I can supply materials to suit your needs! I also buy whole collections and trade materials too. Visits are welcome,by appointment only.
