Thanks for visiting!
Offered is a superb 22cm (along spinal axis) complete and articulated specimen of this familiar marine reptile, from the Middle Triassic Guanling Formation of Xingyi, Guizhou Province, China.
There are many examples of this species on the market and 'enhanced' specimens are common; usually reflected in the pricing. This very aesthetic specimen is without restoration, repair or reconstruction and it is fully articulated. The skull has minute dentition anteriorly under magnification, and the whole the vertebral column is complete, including the tip of the tail and all ribs; there is a small dextral displacement of the tail vertebrae along a natural joint, which is further testimony to its natural state.
Pectoral and pelvic girdles are complete and have all four limbs intact with all digits finely preserved, In all an excellent and displayable specimen. For added interest, there are two additional (pelvic?) bones, the largest 4.5cm on the Matrix, which is approx. 21cm X 16cm X 1.5cm
Excellent price for such an extraordinarily detailed specimen................!
Although I sell a very wide range of fossils from Pre- Cambrian to Pleistocene age, I specialize in trilobites from all over the globe and in particular, British species.
I collect regularly in the UK, with more than forty five years of fieldwork experience and probably the best working knowledge of British trilobite localities. I have a doctorate and a masters degree in trilobite taxonomy and British Palaeozoic stratigraphy and an Open University degree in Natural Sciences.
If you are an amateur collector, a more serious scientific collector, or an agent for an educational organization ( e.g College, University or Museum), I can supply materials to suit your needs! I also buy whole collections and trade materials too. Visits are welcome,by appointment only.
