Offered is a rare, impressive and displayable 11cm X 8cm hind foot of the Lower Cretaceous ceratopsid dinosaur Psittacosaurus mazongshensis Yu 1997, from the Lower Xinminbao Formation of Ganzu Province, China.

All four of the toes are complete with claws (the fifth digit is vestigal) with tarsal and metatarsal bones articulated as in life.

Psittacosaurus is a Ceratopsian dinosaur; a much smaller relative of Triceratops and is notable for being the most species-rich non-avian dinosaur genus, with more than a dozen species so far known, from across China, Mongolia, Russia, and Thailand. Psittacosaurus were obligate bipeds at adulthood (the rear limbs are larger and more powerful than the forelimbs) with a high skull and a robust beak. This specimen is matrix-free and part of a former teaching collection............the bone quality is very good.
