For finely preserved, rare and amazing fish, birds, bats and other vertebrates from this world famous MIddle Eocene site, mounted in resin matrix in the time honoured way
Send me your 'wants list' for future international and UK shows or for my collecting trips in Britain:
If you are a fieldwork collector and have surplus trilobites or other Palaeozoic fossils for sale or trade, please get in touch. I buy whole collections too!
Offered from the celebrated locality in the Lower Devonian, Hunsruck Slates at Bundenbach, Germany, is a piece of slate matrix approx.12cm X 7cm X0.5cm, preserving in fine detail, a good sized (8cm) complete pyritised example of the brittlestar Furcaster palaeozoicus Stuertz, 1886, along with a 6.5cm section of plant stem..........an unusual association.
Preserved in pyrite and in crisp detail; the arms with their delicate calcareous plates are well defined, with unbroken tips. The small central disc is intact and well defined..The arms are aligned by natural sub-marine currents. The plant stem is also well preserved and is clearly segmented. It may belong to a terrestrial species, washed out to sea.
In all a fascinating and very displayable legacy of early Devonian marine life at an affordable price!
Although I sell a very wide range of fossils from Pre- Cambrian to Pleistocene age, I specialize in trilobites from all over the globe and in particular, British species.
I collect regularly in the UK, with more than forty five years of fieldwork experience and probably the best working knowledge of British trilobite localities. I have a doctorate and a masters degree in trilobite taxonomy and British Palaeozoic stratigraphy and an Open University degree in Natural Sciences.
If you are an amateur collector, a more serious scientific collector, or an agent for an educational organization ( e.g College, University or Museum), I can supply materials to suit your needs! I also buy whole collections and trade materials too. Visits are welcome,by appointment only.
