Offered is a fascinating and essentially complete reptile from the Late Permian of Madagascar;an articulated example of the aquatic lizard-like reptile Barosaurus besairiei Piveteau, 1955. preserved in fine detail.

At 18cm this is a good sized specimen. It has all four limbs essentially complete with well preserved digits, tarsals and carpals etc, The skull is intact and the vertebrae and ribs are articulated................many of the ribs show circular cross-sections; testimony to their original nature, which holds for all of the bones under magnification too.

From the Lower Sakemena Formation (Lopingian) of the Morondava Basin, further cleaning with modern air tools would greatly enhance this already displayable specimen.
